Last night, the Liberal Democrat Federal Board decided to hold the leadership election this summer, ending in August. The entire election will be held online.

This is a good decision for the Liberal Democrat Party.

The election review that came out over the weekend was tough reading, but it was honest, and shows that we need to make some big changes. We need a new leader to do that.

We had two choices at the last election, but sat on the fence.

We need a new direction. My leadership pitch is clear; we need to fight from the centre left, and build a winning, progressive alliance. This is how we beat the Tories at the next election.
